Transfer 6?!

Sunday was a lot of fun. We got to teach the beehive class the plan of salvation. It was so fun. I may have traumatized one of the poor girls but I think she'll recover... I'll come back to that in a second. So first off we decided to go about it a little differently than what we normally teach for plan of Salvation. Instead of talking about the what (pre-earth life, the creation, earth life, etc.) We dove deep into the why. It was really cool as we saw each of the girls have something click. My favorite was when we explained how God wanted us all to be comfortable so we were to be judged based off our heart and intents and how nobody would be "burning in hell" we gave the analogy of standing on a stage in dirty clothes in front of thousands of people and we asked if they would feel comfortable. Of course they said no so then we asked "would you be comfortable standing in front of God if you hadn't tried your hardest?" One of the girls gasped and went Ohhh! It was so great. I hope that sticks with her. Now back to the poor traumatized girl. I really wanted to emphasize agency and how we had the ability to choose our end result for ourselves. I had a girl come up to the board and told her to write the word Atonement. I told her no matter what write the word Atonement. She writes the A and then I grab her hand and make her write the word agency. The whole class was giggling as they didn't know what to think and then we talked about what happened. I loved seeing the little lights turn on as the each grasped at different concepts. It was so fun! I love working with teens.

So this past week doesn't really have anything else to share as it was a total fall through week. Literally all but one of our numerous set lessons cancelled or no showed. The one lesson we had that didn't cancel was mayhem. I've never struggled so hard to keep kids focused. It was a humbling and big learning experience. We've been trying to teach some young children who haven't been baptized even though their mum is a member. After trying our hardest the only success we saw was the 5 year old let me help her pray. It was crazy but I'm stubborn and I don't give up. :)

Only other update I can think to share is Sister Combs and I are both staying in Kitsap Lake. So address is the same for at least another 6 weeks :)

One last thing. I was reading in preach my gospel and studying the "Effective Studies" chapter and had some really cool thoughts that apply to missionaries and everyone alike. As I was reading about how we need to study it out before we ask God sometimes I thought of the story of the Brother of Jared starting in Ether 2:18 (I think) and going all the way through Ether 3:19. I don't have the time to go to deep but I'd encourage you to read it and think about what it means to our personal scripture studies. Then email me your thoughts and I'll share more of mine.

I hope you all have a great week. I've got to get back to work! Love you all! (Monday holidays are the worst because then we have to take time out of Tuesdays)

Never enough time!

Well I'm nearly out of computer time again... Shocker. Anyway this week was pretty good. We are seeing miracles all around. We have one investigator on date for Feb 28th with her kids softly on date for the same day (they'll be for sure on date this week) I love watching the blessings come to families! We also are working with some young kids who's mum is a member but they haven't been involved in the church for a long time so hopefully if the flu leaves their home quickly we'll be inviting them to be baptized on the 21st. Exciting things are happening in Kitsap Lake!.

This is the last week of the transfer! Time has flown by! REALLY fast. It's only picking up speed. Anyway so expect transfer call up dates next week. We may or may not be able to email on Monday (holidays on Mondays are no fun as missionaries). We're intrigued to see what happens with this transfer call. We aren't getting many new missionaries coming in so as a result some areas may have to be temporarily be closed. Its all up in the air. Week 6 is a terrible waiting game but to pass the time we're just going to work hard.

Sister Combs and I taught the training in disctrict meeting this past week. It was really great. I think I probably learned more than I could have taught. We tried some different things than what's normally done and people didn't riot so that's a good thing.

Anyway there's not all that much to update on. Sorry hopefully next week I'll be able to give you something exciting or entertaining to read!

Until then take care and look for miracles daily they're all around us!

Never enough time

So I have 6 minutes. Sorry this will be short. This week we had the greatest zone conference. I received a lot of answers to questions I've been desperately praying about. We saw LOTS of miracles this week and I know more are coming. One of my favorites was a referral. She was kind of a double referral. Some members told us to go visit her my first week and when we went to it didn't feel right at all so we kept praying about it and planned to go according to the spirit. Thursday we got 4 referrals from the Spanish elders and one of them was her. We didn't realize it until we were outside her home. It was so exciting and felt right so we knocked on her door. She eagerly took a Book of Mormon and her and her children came to church yesterday despite her terrible migraine. We have also begun teaching a few other people which is very exciting and very needed in this area. I can't wait to see what other miracles come to Kitsap Lake!

Yesterday was the Super Bowl. We got locked in the church for 2 hours with our zone and then we had to head home by 6 pm. I hate being in the apartment. But it keeps us safe so that's good.

Four Walls

This week was a trying week. My companion wasn't feeling well and spent the majority of the week in bed. I was truly grateful to go on exchanges Thursday night. I knew I loved missionary work but now I REALLY REALLY LOVE it! The only other thing to report is that on Saturday Sister Wixom (the General Primary President) came to the Penisula and all the sisters were invited to the womens conference. Afterwards she was extremely pleased to see so many sister missionaries. SIster Blatter will be posting pictures on the blog. But I'm out of time! Sorry for such a short update!

Regardless of the lack of excitement in this email I love you all!
