Well this week was interesting. If you looked at numbers you'd think we had napped all day but if you look at my testimony this was the best week yet! I LOVE BEING A MISSIONARY! I'll try to give a good summary but like always I'm short on time so here I go!
It was a fall through week AGAIN. We went from having a small teaching pool to nothing. Everyone has flaked. We lost the family that was supposed to be baptized on Saturday. When I say lost I mean that LITERALLY. We lost a family of 4! We have no clue where they went! They were living in a pretty run down rental trailer that was crammed on a yard with another trailer and a lot of trash. The health department kicked them all out with no notice. Our phone is malfunctioning and we aren't having any luck contacting the mum. Its way sad BUT we will NOT give up. Prayer is a powerful thing. I know it's all going to work out and we will help them push through the opposition. The Bishop is eager to help them as soon as we can find them so yeah there's that part. Its so great knowing no matter how insane of struggles we encounter through the gospel we will be able to overcome.
As of 7 months in the WA-TAC the weirdest thing I've been fed is tofu. Surprisingly it wasn't too bad. Not something I'll buy for myself but I didn't mind it too much.
The big event of the week happened on Saturday while we were knocking doors. Have I ever told you all how much I love knocking doors? In the WA-TAC we do it from 5-7pm every day (except Mondays from 6-7). They have told us over and over again if you don't have a testimony of 5-7s get one. I've never doubted them or anything but this week I gained my testimony of them. I don't know if its what they had in mind. Here a large majority of the people we find who are ready to hear the gospel come from knocking. I always assumed that was what we were suppose to have a testimony of, BUT that's not what my testimony is. Don't get me wrong I believe we will find people that way. My testimony of 5-7s is this. Whether we are finding someone who is excited and ready for baptism or not if at the end of those 2 hours your testimony hasn't grown you've wasted the time. Whether a single person answers the door or not you better be making the most out of this time.Saturday morning we decided needed to be teaching each other every second of the day. We don't have any investigators but I really felt we shouldn't be wasting a second. So we didn't. Everywhere we went we were relating various things to the gospel of Jesus Christ or teaching each other the principles. The very last door we knocked on a guy answers and immediately began verbally attacking the church and our choice to believe it. It is my strong opinion if we had not been trying to stay completely focused on our purpose this would have resulted in a disaster. Words would have been said on both sides that would have been regretted. Instead we bore powerful testimonies of what we know to be true. This enraged the guy he began yelling more anti literature at us. The spirit draws from our talents and skills. I have the "skill" of stubbornness. In a loving way the conversation quickly went from him yelling to him realizing we value the presence of the spirit and we had a great conversation after that. Well I'm about top be kicked off the computer! BYE
